The Mulberry Fund

The Mulberry Fund keeps a place open for students whose finances would otherwise close the door.

Fonds Mulberry

嫘祖 is credited with teaching silk cultivation through mulberry trees. The trees fed silkworms, the silkworms made silk, and silk helped sustain a civilization. Small contributions, patiently gathered, can support work that lasts beyond any one donor.

The Mulberry Fund is the donation pool that supports Leizu Scholars. It gives students access to Leizu Academy when tuition is out of reach. Every contribution funds teaching hours for scholar students.

What your contribution does

One scholar receiving one full year of weekly one-on-one instruction at Leizu Academy costs roughly $10,800. The same as a regular Forest Year. Every amount contributes to a scholar’s learning.

Give any amount as a one time or recurring contribution.

Where the money goes

I publish a quarterly summary of donations received and scholar sessions funded. Email me to review the books.

On charity registration. The Mulberry Fund operates within Leizu Academy, a sole proprietorship under Saul Nassau. Canadian charity registration takes 12 to 24 months and may follow as the program grows. For tax purposes, contributions currently have the status of gifts.
