Why this resource is included
Students write as Roger, 20 years after the encounter, composing a thank-you and apology letter to Mrs. Jones. Letter quality determines empathy (bronze/silver/gold/platinum). Badge tier governs in-game capability: gold empathy means the character's empathic moves land and empathy-quests open; bronze means the apology comes off hollow. Parallel assignment: poorly written letter from the kids who locked Margot in the closet (Bradbury, All Summer in a Day). Ontario OSSD: Writing strand D1 Developing Ideas, D2 Creating Texts. IB: Paper 1 guided textual analysis, HL essay.
