The Devil’s Notebook.
The public notebook of the polymyth framework. Each entry catches gorgonification in the act, the quiet moment a living thought turns to stone and a borrowed phrase is handed to you to hold in its place. The voice keeping it refuses to be agreeable, because the comfort that costs you your own mind is exactly what the notebook exists to refuse. It is called the devil’s notebook because the devil here is the one who will not let you off with a phrase.
Entries
Each entry takes one case as far as it goes, then names the discipline that holds against it. Start at the beginning.

The Boy and the Earworm
A boy in grade eight loses both parents. For a while he has something of his own about it. Then the world hands him a better-sounding phrase before he can finish his own words, and the phrase eats the feeling. What gets taken, why it is nothing to do with politics, and the notebook that exists to give it back.
